BlogPaws 2012! - Arrival and Day 1

Where to begin?  Well, I guess at the beginning!  BOL!!!
We were picked up by an airport shuttle and taken to the airport.  I hadn't realized the adventure ahead of me that day!  We went on an airplane!  My first airplane ride ever!
Waiting in the airport wondering what is next

Wearing my work uniform
Because of my recent stress colitis, I was given a little pill to help me relax for the flight.  I still panted,  but I wasn't shivering.   I didn't have a relapse and that is the important thing.   I think the take-off and landing are the scary parts.
I was happy when we reached our hotel room.  Guess what!  There was wonderful animal loving lady inside.   Mom said she was our roommate for the trip.  Her name is Emmy.  I really like her!

In the morning, after Mom was dressed, we went walk in a pretty courtyard.  I made sure to mark a large perimeter! BOL!!  We had brunch with our roommate and some pals.  We went back to the room so Mom could organize our things and prepare for the video class that afternoon.  Mom knows I get very tired at conferences, so she planned to leave in the room to nap between lunch and supper.

Well...............You know I wasn't happy about that.  It went against my training and routine.  Mom isn't supposed to leave me, but when I get too tired, I can't work very well.   Mom had zipped me into a pop-up crate tent.  She went to the class, but had to come back to the room to give me half a pill to make sure the pawty that night wouldn't cause a relapse of the stress colitis.   Mom was surprised when she entered the room!  I had turned the crate into a hamster ball!  I had rolled it several feet, spilled my water, and I was not happy.  Mom took me with her when she returned to class.  BOL!!   After class I had my picture taken by Cinny, Baby Pom's mom.

That afternoon we were able to see some of the exhibits.  I quickly located my favorite booth - PetSmart!!   They gave me toys!!  Ya'll KNOW I'm a sucker for a squeaky stuffy!  BOL!!

Look at all the ToysRus  dog toys PetSmart gave to the BlogPaws attendees!

I love this Bret Michaels bed from PetSmart!  I want to stay here all night.

That evening we went to a reception dinner.   It was very nice, we really enjoyed seeing internet pals face to face!

After dinner, I was too tired to work, so Emmy offered to sit me while Mom visited with some pals.
Emmy took my picture during our private slumber pawty!
Then Mom came back and we all went nite nite.
Stay tuned for BlogPaws - Day 2

  1. Pepper, sounds like quite an adventure you had. You know the one picture Mom would have loved to see is what you did to that CRATE! BOL I think I was leading you through osmosis. I am so glad you had a wonderful roommate who looked out for you.

  4. We loved meeting you and your mom at BlogPaws and gosh, we didn't know all the behind-the-scenes stuff going on with you...Hamster Ball, hahameow! Oh, we didn't mean to laff, cuz we did a similar thing one time in a hotel room when we were going to a cat show...Fortunately, we dried quickly...with your luxurious furs, you must have been bedraggled...

    1. Thank you Coco! We loved meeting ya'll too! Mom loves the feel of your fur. Did the Hamster Ball trick surprise your mom as much as it did mine? BOL!!! There was a piddy pad in the tent, so it soaked up most of the water. Pomeranian fur is a little water repellant, if it's only the topcoat, just shake it off. Once the undercoat is soaked, you need a blowdryer. BOL!!
