Hello
pals, I apologize for my extended absence. In addition to my human's health issues, we also had to relocate a few months ago. My human was burnt out, so I
have decided to change things up. I probably won't be doing reviews for
a while. Instead, I would like to ask you to submit product questions
in a comment on the new Q & A page. If I have used the product I will answer
your questions honestly. All answers will be my own pawsonal
opinion. Some products I may have received for review or for testing,
some may be products I have purchased. I will not go out and purchase a
product solely to answer a question. I hope you will enjoy this new
style of communication I have decided to try.
In the meantime, I would like to bark a "Thank You!" to Andis
for the pawsome shears they sent last year. I meant to review them but
my human was too sick to write reviews. I will say that we love these
shears. They are the best ones we have ever used. It is a year later
and they are still our favorite shears.
The crash-tested Pupsaver
is still my favorite car seat, and I use it every time I ride in the
car. Thank you PupSaver for all of the comfortable safe road trips.
This is so strange!! I was JUST thinking of you last week!!! Glad to see you and hope you will be back to blogging regularly!!!!! DakotasDen
ReplyDeleteAwww, you are so sweet. I miss my pals. I hope to catch up with you at BlogPaws 2017. I'm glad to be back finally :)

OMD, me too! I was thinking last month, 'where is Pepper?' I hopes you are feeling better, being sick is SO not fun. Ma has the Andis clippers, and she loves them, butts I wish they were gone...hehehehe just kiddin', they do make the grooming tons faster!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
I miss you too Ruby :) I haven't tried the Andis clippers yet, but their shears are top notch! BOL!! I don't blame you for wanting to hide them though, in my experience clippers mean "tushie shave". BOL!!
DeleteHugs,
Pepper
I missed you, Pepper! I hope your Mom is on the mend and you are doing well. I did not know you moved, either. Let me know when you are ready for my product question. BOL
ReplyDeleteGlad to see your smiling face again.
XOXOXO
Romeo
Romeo! I've been thinking about you this week. I think I will be in your area for BlogPaws 2017. Maybe we could finally meet in furson!!! I am ready for questions whenever you are :)
DeleteHugs,
Pepper
Shhh, just between us, hoping to meet you is one reason I decided to attend BlogPaws 2017 ;)
DeleteYou have to email me and tell me where you will be, Pepper! How exciting! No one ever comes here, so this is going to be something! My question is, have you ever tried the Frozen Raw Primal? I eat the Turkey and Sardines variety, but Mom heats it up. Of course being me, I won't eat it unless she mixes in cooked ground turkey and white rice. Mom just wanted to know if you have tried it and what your Mom's opinion of it is, if you have.

Romeo
Hi Romeo, I have tried Frozen Raw Primal. I have been eating it for a few years. I usually get the beef, lamb, or venison. However, I have recently been having some dietary issues. Mom suspects it has something to do with the move and our 2 month stay at Baron's house, where I was mainly given freeze dried or canned food. I am having to transition slowly back to raw since I urked 2 different high quality brands (purchased from 2 different stores). I was fine with the raw steak from the grocery store, but that isn't a balanced diet so Mom only fed me that for a couple of days to see if I would urk it or not. I seem to do fine on canned food or raw steak, but not on prepared raw meals. I've seen my vet and I am healthy. Since I have had an issue with 2 brands from 2 stores purchased on different days, mom suspects that either I have developed a sensitivity to raw from eating canned food for 2 months, or the local supply could have spoiled from an overnight power outage while I was away. If it is a sensitivity, the slower transition should fix it. If not, then Mom will have to order a direct shipment to ensure it arrives frozen from the factory. I will let you know what eventually happens.

Pepper
I am so sorry you had to endure such a huge transition. We are alike that way, I guess. I hope you are able to get used to the raw again. Mom heats mine up because I do not like my food cold, plus with the GI issues and protein loss, it is better for me. What about the Honest Kitchen, the kind that is a pre-mix and you add your own meat to it? Mom thought about trying that with me, only because of the concern over the bones she finds in the Primal. There are no big bone chunks with the Stella and Chewy's. I think if you tried Honest Kitchen again, you could get away with having your steak again, too. Yum!
DeleteI hope you are finally settled in. We have one more move to go, after our house is done, same development we are in now. Mom can look out the window and watch the house being built. I am hoping it is done before you come down for Blog Paws.
XOXOXO
Romeo
P.S. Did you see the pic of me swimming? BOL
I have tried the Honest Kitchen mixes but I wouldn't eat them, probably because of all the green flakes. I love the Honest Kitchen fish treats like Quickies. If I decide to go back the the mix kind it will either be Welly Chef or Dr. Harvey's. I think there is one or two more brands of frozen that Mom can order and try before she decides. Despite Mom's wishes, I have vetoed the 2 brands sold locally. Mom doesn't know why since I loved both brands up until 3 months ago.
DeleteWhere is the photo of you swimming? I would like to see it. Watching your new house being built must be pawciting! DO you bark at the construction people? I would. BOL!
Hugs,
Pepper
Guess what? I think I found something new! The vet wanted me to consider a novel protein and I just joined a pet group on FB and someone mentioned a brand that is kibble and canned called Wild Calling. I bet you never had that brand before, did you? They have kangaroo and bison in kibble among many others, but those are novel proteins to me, and alligator in canned is novel to me. So Mom thinks I may be able to try it and maybe get off the raw, since I am not thrilled with it. I agree with the green flakes in HK. I do not like it, and does not look attractive on a white face. I am finding it can be dangerous living in the climates that we do as far as raw and frozen food goes and shipment.
DeleteMy profile pic here should be of me swimming in my Bichon friend's pool. They are moving around the corner from us. Mom nearly fainted when she put me in the pool and I started swimming. I did not say I like it, but she thinks I secretly do. Magoo hated water, but I seem to be a good swimmer. Go figure.
I see the construction people all the time when we walk, so I am used to them. I do like to bark at people going past my house, though. You and I could have a bark fest. Since I went deaf, I cannot hear how loud I am when I bark now and Mom is mortified when I bark.
XOXOXO
Romeo
You look cute in the pool Romeo! I can't swim and I don't like water deeper than my ankles. BOL! I have not tried Wild Calling. I haven't seen it in the local stores, and I have not been contacted by them about product testing. Let me know how you like it. Mom is pretty sure I got picky because I won't even eat the raw when she cooks it, I wait until she adds canned on top. Baron's mom heard that some dogs' tastes change as they age. I guess I am one of those since this is the second time I force a change. The first time was when I refused to eat kibble or canned. Now, I only want canned or homemade. I will most likely be eating canned Evangers; or mixes from Welly Chef and/or Dr. Harvey. When did you go deaf? Let the Barkfest begin! Send me an email so we can start planning our 2017 meet and bark.
DeleteHi Romeo, I am finally back on my raw diet. I still don't like the brands in our local stores, but I love the lamb from Raw Paws that was shipped directly to my house in an ice chest with dry ice. :) Mom also discovered that I will eat Sojos dehydrated mix - at least I liked the sample of turkey.
DeleteHugs,
Pepper
It's nice to hear from you Pepper! We've been worried since not hearing from you since the move. We hope you and your mom are doing better and we look forward to seeing you in 2017. Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteHi Dolly, Thank you for your concern. I've been working overtime in my medical job, but Mom is ok now. I hope to see you in 2017 too! It will be nice to catch up. I've felt left out since I've been out of the "scene".
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Pepper
OMD I just looked, Pepper! That is in my backyard!!!! I never went there, but Mom has been. 20 minutes south of us!!!!
