Nutro's 2012 Room-to-Run Dog Park Appreciation Project

Pepper's Paws recently joined the Nutro Knowledge Network.  We are very excited to be part of such a wonderful group.  As a member of the network, we learned about a Pawsome Project from Nutro to help spiff up dog parks!  It is the Nutro Room-to-Run Dog Park Appreciation Project
2012 is the third year Nutro sponsors improvements in dog parks across the United States.  This year Nutro has partnered with country music singer Sara Evans.    They will be awarding grants of $2000 to 30 non-profit dog parks and off-leash areas in the United States.  The application period is from June 13, 2012 until September 30, 2012.

Dog parks can use the grant money for improvements such as landscaping, poop bag stations (my favorite! BOL!), agility equipment, general maintence, and other improvements needed or desired by the dog park.   There is more information in the official press release

Here are more links for the application process and information if you'd like to apply for your local dog park to win an improvement grant!

Pawsonally I think all dog parks should have a separate small dog area for safety reasons.  If your dog park does not have a separate small dog area, please, please, please apply for a grant to create one!

Mom thinks some parks could use more signs reminding owners to scoop the poop!  BOL!!
Sanitary watering stations are another useful improvement.

Are you getting ideas for ways to fix up your local dog park?
What improvements would you like to see?

Please tell you local dog park managers about the Nutro Room-to-Run grants!

    1. Hi Carma, maybe they will get one eventually. Sorry you don't have a dog park yet. I hope you have other fun places to go.
      Hugs,
      Pepper
