My Special Bond With Mom #RecipeForMoments

You know that special bond we share with our humans?
They call it the human animal bond.  I think it develops over time as we experience special moments that increase our loyalty & love.
Such special moments can be as simple as a belly rub, or as complex as learning to work together.

I have a very strong bond with Mom.  I am her medical alert service dog.   We spend all of our time together.  Mom needs to know what I am telling her because I could be signaling something important, such as "take your medicine".   Mom has to pay extra attention to my every behavior.   I have a very expressive face, so she can usually figure out what I'm telling her.  BOL!!   I must admit, I love all of the attention.  I have learned to be a little bossy sometimes.  BOL!!

Not every special moment is spent working for Mom, sometimes we do things that I enjoy - like visit the park!   Recently we visited the park with my best friend, Baron.

The day was sunny and chilly, my favorite kind of weather.  I really love going outside when it is cold or chilly, it makes me feel so frisky!   Mom let me set the pace and choose the direction we walked.  I chose to run of course.  BOL!  Mom loves having fun with me and watching me enjoy myself.

Baron and I enjoyed sniffing the bushes and marking new territory together.    Baron's dad was with us too, he was busy taking our photos.  It was fun to visit the park with Mom, her dad, & Baron.

You may remember that I had a lump scare last year.  Mom and I are so relieved it was benign.  That scary time served as a reminder that every moment together is precious.   Mom decided that we would spend more time just enjoying each other.   She said we would take time away from our busy schedule to go play!
Our visit to the park with Baron was one of our "play" times.
I am so happy, you can see it in my smile.
I love Mom & Mom loves me!

Have you seen the fun photos taken by dogs in the Nature’s Recipe® Recipe for Moments Scrapbooks?   Recipe for Moments is about looking at the human animal bond from the pet's point of view.  Mom has a lot of practice seeing the world from my point of view.  She is my typist when I bark here at Pepper's Paws.
The photos in the Recipe for Moments scrapbooks were taken with special cameras on the dogs' collars.   If I had one of those fun cameras, I'd take pictures at the park, when I'm working, when I travel...... of everything!  BOL!!

  1. Pepper, you are SO right...every moment spent together with our parents is precious and special! You are lucky that you get to spend so much time with your mom though I know a lot of the times, you are working. I bet being a Service Dog makes moments extra-special because you know that you are helping your mom. I am so glad your mom gave you some "time off" to play at the park!! It sure looks like you had a great day!
