Camping Fun with Petco - Pet Product Review & #Giveaway

Last month I received a fun box from my pals at Petco.
At first I was a little confused because it had a letter telling me it was time to go camping.

What????   Princesses and divas do not go camping.  BOL!  My pal Oz is the only dog I really know who goes camping.
I checked out the camping stuff and discovered a fun a Petco tiger toy.  He has a squeaky in his nose!   If camping means playing with squeaky toys, then it must be at least a little fun....right?
I also found a reversible Alpha Pooch Sleeper blanket that I like to nap on.  It is smooth on one side and fuzzy on the other side.   It is hot here in summer, so I like the smooth side most because it feels cooler.  I expect I will enjoy the warm fuzzy side in winter.  If you do take the blanket on a real camping adventure, don't worry - it is machine washable.
Inside the box, there was also a Good 2 Go Square Meal collapsible silicone bowl, Advantix II, and Blue Buffalo Salmon Wild Bits treats.    Collapsible bowls are very useful, Mom keeps one in her purse for when I need a drink while we are running errands.   The Good 2 Go Square Meal Bowl is dishwasher safe.
Then I discovered the SturdiPet Tent.  Mom read the instructions and explained it was a tent fit for a princess like me.  It is for indoor use, or for outside use in protected areas like a covered patio.   2 sides are mesh, so it isn't meant as a shelter from wind or rain.    Whew!  For a second (before Mom read the instructions), I was scared I was going to have to go camping for real.  BOL!   The tent measures 36x36x24 inches, so it is nice & roomy for a small dog like me.  It's easy to put together, and comes with it's own storage bag.
The Advantix is the large dog size, so I will give it to cousin Blue.   I used Advantix before Bayer gave me a Seresto collar.  Both Advantix and Seresto are Bayer products and work great.    Fleas are everywhere outside, even in the city.  You don't have to go camping to find them.  (I'll bark more about fleas in a separate post later this month.)
This is a slumber pawty tent!   Mom set it up in the living room.  I ran to get my Petco Chewbacca to show him my new SturdiPet Tent and Alpha Pooch Sleeper blanket.  It's been almost a year since I got him, and I still bring my Chewbacca everywhere.  He is my most favorite toy.   I enjoy napping and playing in my new tent every day.  It's pawsome!

I know you want to hear about the treats.  They are Blue Buffalo Wilderness Trail Salmon Wild Bits Treats.
Ingredients:  Salmon, Potatoes, Chickpea,  Maple Syrup,Vegetable Glycerine, Gelatin, Salt, Flaxseed (source of Omega 3 and 6 Fatty Acids), Natural Smoke Flavor, Fish Oil (source of DHA-Docosahexaenoic Acid), preserved with Phosphoric, Sorbic & Citric Acids, Tocopherols & Oil of Rosemary
I love salmon, so I think they are yummy.  They are soft, grain free, made in the USA, and small enough to use for training.   I am happy to woof that earlier this year I learned that Petco will stop selling treats from China by the end of the year.  High Paws!
Even though I don't really go camping, I thought it would be fun to put the tent and blanket outside for a little while and pretend I was camping.  The SturdiPet Tent is a great way to allow indoor pets to experience the outdoors a little bit.  The mesh door zips closed, and still allows pets to sniff the fresh air for fun scents.
Petco has a pawsome selection of furrific products.  One lucky Pepper's Paws pal can win a $25 gift card to go shopping at Petco!

  1. What?!? The Pink Princess received a camping tent?!? I don't even have my own camping tent! WTD is going on?!? I think I would love that tent, Pepper. It sure looks roomy...enough space for a dog and all her (or his) toys. You look very happy in there...for a Pink Princess Diva who doesn't go camping! BOL

  8. We used to go camping quite often when my daughters were young. Even before my oldest was born, my husband and I would go camping and take my dog, Misty, with us. It's rather hard to take five Coonhounds camping by myself but I'm really wanting to take my pack out to a night in the woods soon.

  50. This comment was posted in several tweets by @packleader66. I have copied and pasted it here for her.

I must say that camping with your dogs is the best. Rocky and Jake ( old pack) Had the best time camping, they had the pleasure of riding in an authentic SCHOOL BUS, Rocky was so noble looking sitting up in the seat. We had to take a school bus to get to the canoes. The outfit we went to takes you by bus to reach the canoe outpost, were we got in the canoes and spent the biggest part of the day rowing to our campsite. Jake didn't mind the canoe ride but Rocky was less then thrilled but he made it. Rocky enjoyed the campsite while Jake lived in the water. Nothing like a campfire to bring out th ancestor in your dog. we stayed there for 2 days and the boys (Rocky & Jake) had the time of their lives. We have not had a chance to take another trip.
