Sherpa - Pet Product Review & #Giveaway

My pals at Sherpa (part of the Quaker Pet Group) really know how to help a little dog (or cat) go places.

Whether you need a carrier for the plane, a tote bag for the mall, or even a ride to the vet, Sherpa has a carrier that will help your human bring you where you need to go.
Sherpa even has a new Safety Suite to secure your soft sided carrier in the car.  Sherpa really cares about helping us go places with our humans.

The new Metropolitan Tote, with its faux leather trim, is an attractive option for when you want to go shopping with your human.  It has a large mesh panel on the back side, two small mesh panels on the ends, and a little mesh zipper window on the front side to pop my head out.  The wide hinged top opening makes it easy to put me inside the Metropolitan Tote.  It has 2 adjustable hand straps attached to the tote, and it comes with a detachable adjustable shoulder strap.  It has a firm bottom with a machine washable faux lambskin liner.  It also has little metal feet to stand on when your human sets it down.  If your human wants to be discreet when they have a dog in their purse, just zip both the top and the window closed, and put the mesh back side against their body.  Of course, you can help by not barking.  BOL!  There is a roomy zipper pocket on the front side to put things in so your human won't need to carry a second bag.  Because you know it looks suspicious if your human is carrying 2 purses.  BOL!
The Metropolitan Tote is a size medium bag.  It fits pets up to 16 inches long and up to 18 pounds.  I am 16 inches long, so I am at the maximum end of the size range.  I'm also 2 inches taller than the recommended height for the Metropolitan tote.  While it may be a tight fit, I can still fit inside when it is zipped closed.  This is the largest "purse" that I have been able to find.  I can't even get halfway into most dog purses (usually meant for dogs under 10 pounds).  Even though a dog my size can fit inside it, I think the Metropolitan Tote is a better fit for dogs a little bit smaller than me.
This Sherpa Original Deluxe carrier is the pawfect size for me.  There is enough room for me to stand up and turn around.  The Original Deluxe is a roomy soft carrier with large mesh panels on 3 sides.  The back side has a zippered pocket.  It is available in 3 sizes, and 4 colors.  I have the size large in plum color.  The large size fits dogs up to 22 pounds, and 18 inches long.  The Original Deluxe carrier has a bottom stability board inside a waterproof liner, and a machine washable faux lambskin liner.

The Original Deluxe carrier has padded hand carry straps, and a detachable adjustable shoulder strap.  There is a strap on one side to fit a seat belt through.  There are 4 plastic feet on the bottom for when your human sets it down on the ground.  One of my favorite things is that the front zips open so I can use the carrier as a cozy cave in the hotel room.  The top opening is really useful for Mom, particularly when I don't want to get out of my comfy cave.  The Sherpa Original Deluxe is approved by most airlines, and the small & medium sizes are included in Sherpa's "Guaranteed on Board" program.
Now I'd like to show you Sherpa's new Safety Suite.  This product will secure most soft sided carriers to the rear car seat.  No more sliding across the seat or falling to the floor.  The Safety Suite attaches to your car's child safety seat attachments in the backseat.  Your human knows what they are, those little metal things deep in the seat crack.   It is easy to install.  All your human needs to do is attach the 2 hooks to 2 of the car's metal things.  When it's time to go somewhere, your human velcros the side straps of the Safety Suite through the carrier's shoulder strap attachment rings.  Then your human hooks the top strap over the carrier and adjusts the strap to fit your carrier.   Now your are ready to ride!  Your humans don't even need to remove it when they need to use the seat, just fold it up against the back of the seat.
Note:  The Safety Suite is only for use in the back seat.  I do not have any crash test information about the Safety Suite, it does not claim to be crash tested.
Giveaway time!  One pal will receive a Sherpa Safety Suite plus a Sherpa Original Deluxe Carrier!   Another pal will receive a Sherpa Metropolitan Tote!

  8. I'm so excited about this, my mom just adopted a miniature Dachshund puppy and since we have quite a few kitties between us, it would be nice to have a quality carrier that could just be for him. I love the safety feature best, I've always gotten nervous having loose carriers in the vehicle since our pets are our children. What a great unit- thank you Pepper.
