Nutro Grain Free Venison and Potato - Product Review of a Prize I Won.

A month or two ago, I won a pawsome prize from Nutro in a contest on WebVet
The prize was a bag of Nutro's new grain free formula and a bag of treats, they even asked me what flavor I'd like!  I picked Venison!  I am a small dog, so to me a bag of food is usually 5 to 10 pounds, Baron and I share the bag, and it lasts a few months.   I can imagine my Great Dane and Rottie pals barking their tails off at the thought of a small bag feeding two dogs for three months!  One day a really heavy box arrived!  I was sniffing all over it, it smelled yummy!  Mom opened the box for me and inside was.....................
Some of you may remember seeing this picture on my FaceBook page last month.

this HUGE bag of food (over 20 pounds -basically a year's supply of food!), TWO bags of treats, and a TOY!  JACKPOT!!  This is a very generous prize!   I did my happy Pommie wiggle dance and licked the bags!  BOL!!
I pawed at the bags, hoping one of them would magically open, but they didn't.  I calmed down and posed for a photo, that earns me a treat usually.  TA-DA!!  Mom opened the crunchy berry treats (my favorite flavor) and gave one to me!  YUMMY!  I scratched at the giant bag of food, hoping mom would get the hint - OPEN IT!!  But noooo, she made me wait until supper!  Grrrr!  The nerve of her!  It was my prize after all! BOL!!

Yummy!  I was finally allowed to eat some of the new food!
This is not the first time I won some Nutro.  I was introduced to Nutro in October, 2010.  I won a raffle basket from PetSupermarket at the BarktoberFest.  In the basket was a bag of Nutro Ultra, Nutro crunchy berry treats, Nutro slices (moist food in a foil packet), a couple of cans of Nutro Ultra, and lots of other things.  It was a yummy introduction!  BOL!!
I think this may be the first time I won a prize
See the bag of food in the basket?  For me, that is a full size bag of food.  BOL!!
I was so pleased with my winnings that I forgave Mom for dressing me in a fairy costume.
I have been eating Nutro food for a couple of years now, so Mom knows it is a healthy, high-quality food.  It is made in the USA, in Nutro's own facilities.  That is very comforting to know my food is safe.   All the ingredients are good for me; it doesn't have any of the ones Mom avoids such as colors, artificial things, corn or pork.  (Yes, Mom actually reads the whole ingredient list on my food and treats.)  I think it tastes great!  The Grain Free formulas are Limited Ingredient, that makes them a good choice if your dog has food allergies or sensitivities.  Mom recently learned that Nutro has special ingredients in it for  healthy skin and fur.
Here is a quote from Nutro's website:
"As always, you can expect to see a lustrous, healthy coat after using NATURAL CHOICE® Dog Food. In fact, we guarantee it or your money back!"

My fur is soft and shiny, a nice healthy adult Pomeranian coat.  Did you know Poms don't have their full adult coat until they are two years old?

This is what the kibbles look like.

I already mentioned they enclosed a bag of my favorite crunchy treats - berry!  They also sent a bag of crunchy carrot treats.  If you have to eat carrots, this is the way to eat them!  BOL!!  Some of you may remember when Mom was told to give me carrots and green beans as low calorie treats.  I refused to eat carrots after the first bag of baby carrots.  Well, I like these treats, so that's saying something!   The puppy cousins like them too.  Mom gave them both one of each flavor.  Mom forgot to take pictures of the puppies eating the treats.

Review Disclaimer:  (I hadn't really thought about reviewing a prize I had won.   A pal mentioned that I could show my appreciation by filling out the review form on the company website.  I decided while I was doing that, it would nice to post one on my blog!)  I did not receive any compensation for this review.   The products I reviewed were not free samples sent for a review, they are a prize I won that I really like!   The opinions in this review are my own and not influenced by any outsider .  I receive no additional benefits for talking about the product or company.

  4. Wow, Pepper, that is quite some haul! That bag of food is even bigger than mine. I love that it is Limited Ingredients, grain free, and no garbage fillers. I also appreciate the fact that they make the food in their own facilities, which is so rare these days. Another great review! I am going to tell the Mama I want to try the carrot treats. I don't suppose they have any with green beans? BOL

    Love and Hugs,

    1. Thank you Romeo! I think you would like this food! delicious!! I don't think the treats come in green bean flavor. BOL!!! They have Berry, Carrot, and Apple. There are green beans in some of the moist foods. BOL!! I can imagine you shredding a huge bag of food instead of waiting for Mom to open it for you. High Paw!!

    1. Thank you! It is easy to bark about food and treats that I love and Mom trusts. The berry treats have improved my recall from the back yard. When mom calls, I run because I know I will get a berry treat!

  7. Venison and Potato sounds yum. They are not real big kibbles though. We like the BIG crunchy ones, although they are not easy to come buy. What we are eating now is about that size.

My Angel sissfur Sieglinde LOVED carrots. Mum would thrown her one from the fridge, and she would take it and run to her bed and devour it. She really liked the old fashioned purple carrots - they ar not easy to find.

  8. Thank you Freya! BOL!! For me these dime sized kibbles are a good size, big enough that I HAVE to chew them and small enough to fit in my mouth. BOL!! I love venison!! I have never seen a purple carrot. Hugs for Angel Sieglinde and her purple carrots. I like these treats a lot more than raw carrots. BOL!
    Hugs,
    Pepper
